About Us
Helen James, the founder of Innocent Oils spent many years trying to find the perfect moisturiser for
her temperamental sensitive skin. However, Innocent Oils is far more than that, Helen aims to put
customers back in touch with the forgotten gifts that nature has already provided us with for
centuries, and helps customers to understand the benefits of truly natural skin care products that do
not compromise on style or effectiveness and most importantly do not contain any potentially harmful
ingredients. In the last century we seem to have lost touch with the healing power of plants which
have been used successfully throughout history to calm, heal, and restore the body's natural balance
and this is a real shame. With Innocent Oils Helen aims to restore some of this understanding for
generations to come.

Sadly the media have caused much confusion over the years, and the misinformed may have
unnecessary concerns about Hemp which Helen did not want to become an issue with her products
before they had even been tried on the skin. It is for this reason that Helen does not use the Hemp
leaf of any of her products and neither does she wish to make any political statements regarding the
legalisation of Hemp's psychoactive sister plant commonly known as Cannabis here or abroad.

At Innocent Oils we only use 100% natural oils and plant waxes to create wonderful, hand blended
therapeutic oils and balms.
You won't find any nasty toxins or bulking agents in our products, only the finest, pure and ethically
sourced, well researched, highly effective natural ingredients.

We do not even allow the use of water to make creams, the reason for this is quite simple - if water
is used, it must be preserved to prevent mould and harmful bacteria deteriorating the product. There
are many products out there which are preserved using various botanical ingredients such as
essential oils and herbs, but in reality these ingredients although they are somewhat effective - are
not proven to protect full spectrum against bacteria etc, as is necessary to ensure the safety for the
end user. At Innocent Oils we would rather not risk potential harm to our customers, however slight
the chances may be.

The beauty industry in the 20th Century has been bombarded with chemicals which serve no good
purpose for the body. Toxic chemicals are added to make commercial products stable, look and
smell good, and last on the store shelves for extended periods of time, often up to 3 years. Many of
these chemicals have not been long term tested for safety when absorbed in combination by the
human body.

Innocent Oils products are all hand blended, using only the finest ingredients, which are combined to
provide a therapeutic benefit, rather than boost profits with cheap bulking agents.

Helen has no doubt that mankind has made fantastic medicinal discoveries using synthetic products.
After all being a Type 1 Diabetic, using synthetic insulin several times everyday and unable survive
without it she has no objection to modern medicines when necessary.
Her concern is that in today's world we rely far too heavily on unnecessary additives, such as toxic
preservatives and petrochemical industry by-products. Used in one form or another in 99% of skin
care products on the market, many of which have not been long term tested for human safety.

We are bombarded with advertising encouraging us to kill bacteria, and yet asthma and allergies are
at an all time high?!!
Ask yourself, is this something to do with the toxins we inhale and absorb each day and are our low
immunity levels due to the lack of bacteria we have encountered since childhood…?

Helen has no medical background and would not wish anyone to stop using necessary medicines.
But, why not take time to think about what you use on your skin each day, how it might be affecting
your system in the long term.

By avoiding skin care products containing toxins, you can help relieve your body's burden of trying to
rid itself of such nasties."
